I owe a deep debt of gratitude to my mother and grandmother for teaching me about history and taking me to historic sites like Williamsburg, Virginia when I was a child.

Thomas Jefferson also spent many years in Williamsburg, Virginia as a young adult. Jefferson’s father died when he was 14 and he began attending the College of William and Mary when he was 16 in the year 1760. He will attend from 1760 until 1762, learning from the great George Wythe, a future signer of Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence and America’s first law professor. Jefferson also spent extensive time with William Small, a Scot who will introduce Jefferson to the “three greatest men the world has ever produced,” Francis Bacon, John Locke, and Isaac Newton – foundational enlightenment minds. Additionally, Williamsburg was the capital of Virginia at the time and Jefferson spent time at the Governor’s mansion discussing, dining, and maybe even playing his violin! 🎻 Historic Colonial Williamsburg is an outstanding place to visit friends! ❤️

It has been my pleasure, privilege, and honor to continue the tradition of historical travel with my mother, mother-in-law, wife, daughter, and now son!

Pictures from a visit to Williamsburg in the early 1990s with my mother and grandmother!❤️ And 2024 visit with my family! 🇺🇸🙌
